LIT, a slang word which used to be mean intoxicated has a new meaning lately. Excellent, all lit up with excitement. So maybe it’s not a new meaning after all. We use the word intoxicating in a “drunk with happiness’’ kind of way. Those of us who get their high from books, who are addicted to reading knew that, of course, but now HBO is joining up with the NYC library to promote reading because ... well just think how many HBO series are based on books? Below, Reese Witherspoon, who is a totally LIT fan of literature, speaks on behalf of the #ReadingIsLIT movement.
