Cate Blanchett in talks to star in 'Where’d You Go, Bernadette.’ Just say YES, Cate!

I LOVED the book!! I read the epistolary novel and gave you my take on the quirky best seller by Maria Semple last year. Honestly, the Hollywood Reporters story that Cate Blanchett is in talks to play Bernadette, eccentric mother  and agoraphobic architect, is the most exciting development in book-to-movie news I’ve read in ages. Richard Linklater who gave us the beautiful Boyhood is in talks to direct.

The Fault in Our Stars, 500 Days of Summer screenwriters Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter completed the screenplay based on Maria Semple’s quirky best seller ages ago.

The producers are in place: Color Force's Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson (The Hunger Games) are producing alongside Annapurna's Megan Ellison (American Hustle, Her, Zero Dark Thirty).

What’s the holdup? C’mon Cate and Richard, just say yes!

How about you, the bookaholics out there? Do you see Cate Blanchett as the former architect and mother of the adorable Bee? What about the rest of the cast? Bee isn’t your ordinary 15 year old, and neither Bernadette’s tech-genius husband. Ideas?
