Leo, you devil! Leonardo DiCaprio and Scorsese Reuniting to make The Devil in the White City #book2movies

It was December 2011 when we first learned Leo was going to play the serial killer, H.H. Holmes in the adaptation of The Devil in the White City. Here's what we knew back then: Graham Moore (The Imitation Game) was writing the script based on Erik Larson's non-fiction best seller. The passion project was about the real life serial killer who preyed on visitors to the Chicago Worlds Fair in 1893. Hired to build a hotel for the fair, the creep actually built the hotel to aid and abet him in his seriously grisly misdeeds. He killed somewhere between a couple of dozen and 200 people! Read my original post for more deets but I remember reading the book and it being so horrific I just couldn't believe it was real.

What the heck has happened since then?! Somewhere along the way Warner Bros let the rights lapse, and now Paramount won a bidding war and holds the reigns. The really excellent news is that Martin Scorsese is directing and DiCaprio is still starring.

Poor Graham Moore (Imitation Game). His script must have been part of the problem because now Billy Ray, whose credits include “Captain Phillips” and “The Hunger Games,” has written the new screenplay which got everyone all fired up again about making the movie.

Let's hope we don't have to wait another four years before we find out if they actually do make it. It's a mind-blowing story, and Leo and Scorsese together is a prospect just too exciting to let slip away.
Have you read the book? Are you as psyched as I am?
