Jane Fonda "Hilary Altman" Behind the Scenes : This Is Where I Leave You #book2movies

Welcome to another Slacker Sunday.  I'm still in bed but my coffee's cold so I'll make this quick. Basically I'll be extra slackery slacker about it. My fascination with Jane Fonda continues; I saw and loved This Is Where I Leave You when it opened Friday (Read my take on the movie) and last night re-watched Klute.  I hadn't seen it since it hit theaters forty years ago and I was blown away. Fonda won a well-deserved Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Bree, the troubled actress/call girl with a deadly stalker on her trail. She stars opposite Donald Sutherland. I find it very inspiring to see both she and Sutherland have active careers these forty years later. We'll be seeing him of course, again as President Snow in Hunger Games: Mockingjay when it opens November 21.

Fonda is currently working on a new Netflix series with Lily Tomlin called Grace and Frankie which also stars Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston due out early in 2015 and has two upcoming films in the can - Fathers and Daughters with Aaron Paul, Amanda Seyfried and Russell Crowe and The Early Years with Rachel Weisz, Paul Dano, Harvey Keitel and Michael Caine. For now though Fonda is rocking it as Hillary Altman, the matriarch of the dysfunctional family who come together for one week of very funny mourning.

Here's a video interview I nabbed in which the acclaimed actor talks about making This is Where I Leave You movie and working with Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Corey Stoll and Adam Driver.  I LOVE what she says about Driver and his talent.

The woman is in her mid-seventies; how the hell does she do it because I know for a fact that while she may have money, assistants, makeup artists, and the very best diet and exercise gurus (oh, wait she's her own exercise guru) she still has to drag her body out of bed in the wee, very wee hours of the morning and work a minimum twelve hours a day. I don't know how she does it but I find the fact that she does, incredibly energizing.

Enjoy!
