James Franco is NOT the voice of The Little Prince

The Little Prince has been translated into 250 languages and sold over 140 million copies worldwide. Helping children come to terms with the adult world, the book tells the story of a pilot stranded in the desert who meets a young prince fallen to Earth from a tiny asteroid.

The book is so popular that The Little Prince Amusement Park opened this past July in the Alsace region of France on the 70th anniversary of Saint Exupéry's death. A tribute to the author Le Parc du Petit Prince, features over 30 attractions loosely based on the theme of flight, including two humungous tethered balloon rides.

Sounds like fun but you can't make it to France? Director Mark Osborne is bringing the book back to movie screens with a new animated adaptation next year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the cast includes James Franco (voicing not The Little Prince but the Fox), Rachel McAdams, Jeff Bridges, Marion Cotillard, Mackenzie Foy, Benicio del Toro, Paul Giamatti and Albert Brooks.

Deep, dark, embarrassing  confession. I've never read The Little Prince. I feel completely out of the loop like I missed out on something very vital and culturally important in my childhood much like a child who hasn't read Harry Potter and has no clue why Lord Voldemort is 'he that can not be named'. Time for a trip to the bibliotheque and make up for my childhood's deficiencies!
