Chloe Moretz asks "Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?" in If I Stay prologue trailer

That central question posed long ago by the Clash is the one Mia asks in the prologue trailer to If I Stay. Albeit their energy was a lot more defiant and in your face than the more mournful sound of French electronic band M83 here.

Beginning with the opening pages of Gayle Forman's book, the trailer features a voice over by Mia (Chloe Grace Moretz) along with a track from M83's album Hurry Up We're Dreaming. The song, 'Outro', has apparently been used in a slew of trailers including The Fifth Estate, Cloud Atlas and now If I Stay. And their song, Wait, was just featured in that other cry-me-a-river movie, The Fault in Our Stars.

Looking to add a few tears to your day? Do you appreciate the value of the cathartic cry?
Okay, then give the original trailer(below) for If I Stay a whirl. Imagine being Mia with a boyfriend who isn't just in love with her, but really cares about her happiness, her dreams. Who paints a ceiling so it matches the ceiling of the Juilliard exam room where you'll be auditioning? Someone who loves you, that's who. That's big beautiful real love. The song, Say Something (I'm Giving Up on You) by A Great Big World with Christina Aguilera, seems tailor made for the comatose Mia. I doubt it appears in the film, though.

"Isn't it amazing how life is one thing, then in an instant it becomes something else?"
Mia, If I Stay

The Story:
Life changes in an instant for young Mia Hall after a car accident puts her in a coma. During an out-of-body experience, she must decide whether to wake up and live a life far different than she had imagined.

Based on the book by Gayle Forman, If I Stay stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Jamie Blackley, Mireille Enos, Liana Liberato, Joshua Leonard, Jakob Davies and Stacy Keach. Directed by R.J. Cutler from a script by Shauna Cross, If I Stay opens August 22.

There's still time to read the book.
