First photo from Brad Pitt produced Twelve Years a Slave

The first photo from Twelve Years a Slave has shown up on twitter.
It looks like Beasts of the Southern Wild star Quvenzhané Wallis is playing the daughter in the Steve McQueen (Hunger, Shame) film 12 Years a Slave. The film based on Solomon Northup's account of being kidnapped and sold into slavery in the mid - 1800's  stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as Solomon Northup, along with Brad Pitt (who also produces) Michael Fassbender, Paul Dano, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Giamatti, Garret Dillahunt, Sarah Paulson and Scoot McNairy. Production is underway down in New Orleans so keep your eyes out if you head down to the big easy this summer. Can you believe this cast!
According to First Look,  "The Film Stage recently found a tweet from @lesterzeigler of this photo of Ejiofor on set with Quvenzhané as the Northup family.
While he doesn't explicitly state it's Quvenzhané, you can definitely tell it's her. Her Beasts co-star Dwight Henry also recently joined the cast. Lester Zeigler's tweet states: "#12yearsaslave, Northup family, on set in French Quarter, McQueen is a genius." Love to hear this kind of early buzz, especially when it comes with a first look photo! Shadow and Act confirms the casting and adds that the other actress seen is Kelsey Scott."
12 Years a Slave

McQueen's adaptation of Twelve Years a Slave is written by John Ridley.
