Add ' A United Kingdom' starring Rosamund Pike and David Oyelowo to the Must See List

I posted the first trailer for A United Kingdom starring David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike back in August. Based on the true story as told in the non-fiction book Color Bar, we talked about the book2movie back in June. What's new is that while A United Kingdom opened in the UK in the fall, the film hits American movie houses on February 10th.

The story of Prince Seretse Khama of Botswana who marries a white woman from London in the late 1940s, I'm going to let the trailer speak for itself. It's that powerful. A United Kingdom is set to debut at the Toronto Film Festival on September 9th, another screening at the London Film Festival on October 5th, with a wide release in the UK on November 25th. US? Still nothing definite. Hurrah! February 10 th.

Mark this down in the PLUS column for women in film. A United Kingdom is directed by Amma Assante, the female director who gave us Belle. Playing in theatres now, A United Kingdom is on my must see list.
Are you planning on seeing A United Kingdom?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
