Elle starring Isabelle Huppert. Nope, we’re not talking fashion magazines.

Based on Philippe Djian’s French novel “OH” Elle is a thriller starring Isabelle Huppert as the seemingly indestructible head of a successful video game design company. After being attacked in her home, instead of calling in the police, Michele (Huppert) tracks the assailant down on her own.

Directed by Paul Verhoeven, Elle is in competition for the Palme d’or at this year’s Cannes film festival. A psychological thriller, it looks terrifying. Shot in and around Paris—some shots scheduled to take place at Paris’ main police station were cancelled after the Charlie Hedbo attacks—Elle is set to open in France at the end of May with no current release date for other markets. But that’s what Cannes is for, n'est ce pas?

Posted for those of you Dreaming of France, film is always a good short term fix.

Here’s the trailer ...
