A new trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them made its debut this weekend at the MTV awards. ICYMI (like I did) here it is. My favorite part? The ending.
Another high note: Scamander’s arrival—Eddie Redmayne—at Ellis Island which is a whole lot different than the usual (muggle’s) landing and inspection.
To be honest, while I bought J.K. Rowling’s thin little red book for my own Potter fanatic back in the day—and took him and his friends to the all the book store release parties—I personally haven’t been into the Potter books in years BUT this looks on the right side of magical to me.
I’m not sure about Eddie Redmayne’s deer-in-the-headlights expression and I’m wondering if there are a few Redmayners (is that a thing?) hankering for the actor to play just a regular guy, a mere mortal, no physical handicaps, no gender bender transmutations. Not a period drama. No a sci-fi head game. Just a nice present day Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Michael Fassbender, kinda thing.
In the meantime, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them arrives on November 18 and also stars Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller and Katherine Waterston(below).
Are you ready to go on an anthropological witch, wizard and assorted beings hunt?
