Is Fifty Shades of Grey Sexier in French? Cinquante Nuances de Grey Trailer

Bonjour mes amis, j'adore lundi! Okay, that's about it for my French. But lately I do adore Mondays, the day I play along with Paulita Kincer's Dreaming of France meme. Playing along requires the posting of something that has one Dreaming of France and I've really been getting into digging up trailers created for the overseas French market. While a fair share of American films are shown with subtitles, there's a huge market for American films dubbed into French.

Today I had a choice of two movie trailers to share with you; Cinquante Nuances de Grey or American Sniper (Sniper Americain?)

I watched both and then I wondered which one you'd want to see; sexy Bradley Cooper speaking French — which let's face it, has the potential to be hot, hot, hot except this is Bradley Cooper as a lethal sniper, which is so very unsexy— or the trashy fantasy Fifty Shades of Grey which I hear from friends is not that sexy, and not worth the $13.50 price of a ticket here in Los Angeles. But because almost everything seems better in French — especially sex — I'm sharing Cinquante Nuances de Grey. Did I make the right choice? Is Fifty Shades of Grey sexier in French? You tell me.

  1. Well, you're right. It sounds sexier than the English ! I haven't read the book or seen the movie so I just have vague ideas about it. I feel bad for that little guy with the sparse growth of hair on his chest. If he can't grow real hair, why not wax it all. Thanks so much for playing along. Your link isn't listed. If you get a chance will you go back and add it? Here’s my Dreaming of France meme

  3. I haven't read the book either, and I won't see the movie. I have seen the English language trailer (several times), and think the French one is better- it's not just the English trailer dubbed, it's showing different scenes. And I really hate the song they use in the English one, so am glad it's not here... It's still not enough to tempt me along to the cinema.

    1. I wonder who these millions of people seeing the movie are? Paulita's not going, you're not going, I'm not going; but it is blazing hot at the box office. I expect it will drop off quite a bit, the reviews are lousy.
