Brooklyn Image Gallery: Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson and Emory Cohen [trailer]

Brooklyn premiered last January at Sundance, and now stars Saoirse Ronan and Domhnall Gleeson have taken the film to TIFF where it once again screened to rave reviews. Ronan stars as Ellis Lacey, a young Irish woman who leaves Ireland and Jim Farrell (Domhnall Gleeson) behind, emigrating to Brooklyn where she meets and falls for Tony (Emory Cohen). Also starring Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters, Brooklyn, based on the book by Colm Toibin, was scripted by Nick Hornby, and directed by John Crowley.
Brooklyn will be released November 6th. It’s supposed to be lush and romantic and incredibly emotional so I’m looking forward to a good cathartic cry. Im hoping there’ll be a DGA screening before then that I can convince my husband to take me to. Otherwise, I’ve got these images and the trailer below to tide me over.

  1. This one looks quite promising! And my goodness, little Saoirse is all grown up now, isn't she?

    1. Yes, no more hidden strength hiding behind frail and wispy. I'm looking forward to this one as well, both Ireland and Brooklyn in the 50s hold a lot of appeal for me and who doesn't love a good immigrant story. I didn't review it (I don't think) but I liked the book quite a bit.
