Neve Campbell to star in Linda Castillo's Sworn to Silence

In a press release published on TV by the Numbers, Lifetime announced it's given the go ahead to a two hour movie based on Linda Castillo's book Sworn to Silence. The film will also serve as a 'backdoor pilot' meaning if it does well, they'll go into production on a series. Neve Campbell (Scream, Party of Five, Singularity) and the upcoming Singularity, will star.

In Sworn to Silence, the peaceful Amish farming community of Painter’s Mill, Ohio, is shattered when a series of brutal murders leaves the town with a sense of frailty and loss of innocence.  Among the most affected by the tragedy was Kate Burkholder(Campbell), a young girl who survived the terror and, as a result, left theAmish life behind.  Fifteen years later, Kate returns to Painter’s Mill as its Chief of Police.  Certain she’s come to terms with her past, Kate’s renewed life in her hometown is shattered when a murder investigation triggers deep-seated emotions from her childhood and exposes dark secret that could destroy her.

Mark Malone, who has some good experience writing in the genre ((Law & Order: Criminal Intent) will write the screenplay and Stephen Gyllenhaal (Girl FightHomegrown) is set to direct.
Campbell is probably best loved for her role as  “Julia Salinger” in Fox’s critically-acclaimed Golden Globe Award®-winning drama Party of Five, but the Canadian actress is certainly best known for her appearances in Scream 2, 3 and 4! Most recently she was cast opposite Josh Hartnett - can't wait to see him on screen again - in Singularity, directed by Roland JoffĂ©. The back-in- time travelling themed film is in post-production now and expected to hit theatres sometime next year.
