Golden Globes Nominees for Best Actress in a Drama!

I couldn't be happier for all the female nominees for Golden Globes/Best Actress. But ya know, I'm kinda partial to the women who starred in - wait for it - films based on books.
So if I were casting a vote I would probably give it to Tilda Swinton for We Need to Talk About Kevin.

Viola Davis earned her nomination for The Help but I don't feel like she went places she hasn't been before - thinking not just of Doubt but also her appearances in SVU!

Mark and I are going to a screening of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo at the Directors' Guild this evening so I may change my mind about who should win after seeing Rooney Mara who was nominated for her role as Lisbeth. I don't see Meryl Streep getting it for The Iron Lady - there was so much flack about an American playing this British icon that I think the foreign press gave her a well deserved nomination and those kudos will have to satisfy her. Congrats too, to Glenn Close for Albert Nobbs, a film I know absolutely zilch about!
