Hot Hot Hot! The Marriage Plot is Being Made into a Movie [Updated 11/5/2017]

Updated: 11/5/2017
Just learned that Scott Rudin has picked up the rights to The Marriage Plot, a novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jeffrey Eugenides. Rudin is the producer of a couple of the most exciting books coming to the big screen - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.  Obviously I haven't seen either film but the trailers look amazing - with a little regret about the casting of Tom Hanks as the father in Extremely - so there's not a lot of doubt about the quality of films Rudin makes. Still, I'm sure he had plenty to say about casting so I will have to wait and see where this goes.
More later! In the meantime, one more book to add to the To Read list!

Update: Greg Mottola was brought on to adapt in 2012 but beyond that, there's been no visible movement. Mottola is currently busy with the television adaptation of The Dangerous Book for Boys by Conn Iggulden and Hal Iggulden.
